LONGWOOD, FL-As a peacemaker, Xulon Press author Victoria Wilson Darrah learned her greatest lesson on reconciliation when her marriage of 12 years dissolved and she was left with a broken heart and a young son to raise. In her new release, Journey to Healing for the Brokenhearted: Holding on to Heaven While You Go Through Hell ($20.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-745-8; $32.99, hardcover, 978-1-60791-746-5), she recounts the journey she took through the hell that is divorce, and how, by holding on to her faith in God, she emerged on the other side healed and with an even stronger faith in Him. The reader will accompany her on her journey from deep pain, anger, and bitterness to understanding, compassion, forgiveness, healing, and finally restoration. In the end, the author hopes the reader will have a mini-book documenting his or her journey to healing.

Says Darrah, "After all is said and done, this is a love story between a woman and her God. Even as my world shattered around me, my relationship with God remained constant. In a world of watered-down Christianity, I pray that my radical commitment to Jesus, so clearly displayed in my narrative and in my brutally honest journal entries, will challenge all who read this book to seek a relationship with God that is vibrant and life transforming."

Although the book revolves around the author's journey through divorce, she says it is also a continuation of a dream that originated with her father, an award-winning African evangelist and peacemaker who was murdered while trying to reconcile the warring factions in the then war-torn country of Uganda. "At the funeral, as I watched the casket being lowered into the ground, I made a promise to my father to continue his dream," she recalls. "The book takes us on an adventure that spans several continents and deals with reconciliation on many different fronts."
