LONGWOOD, FL-As a child, author Veronica M. Pearson was deeply affected by her parents' marital conflict and frequent escalations of violence. And being raised in a salvation by works religion, she developed a distorted view of God and His love. Following her own failed marriage, she struggled with balancing single parenthood and a career. Crying out to the Lord at a critical time in her life, she experienced salvation, the powerful infilling of the Holy Spirit and a wonderful revelation of Father God's love through Jesus Christ. It is this love of the Father that she desires to communicate to others in her new Xulon Press book, Comfort for the Weary Heart ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-439-3). Written from personal experience, this book will give readers strength, comfort, and healing for damaged emotions as well as a renewed perspective of God's caring presence through the Holy Spirit during the trials and hardships of life.

"So many hurting people who look to drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. for comfort and are unaware of the real deep down need for spiritual and emotional healing that is available through the one who knows us best because He created us," the author says. "[My book] is written from personal experience of the power of God to heal, change, and restore damaged lives."

Pearson, an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, says that after turning her life fully over to the Lord, she was able to experience inner healing from her damaged emotions. She has functioned in church leadership positions as business administrator, Bible teacher, and board member, and she currently pastors a small northern New Jersey church.
