LONGWOOD, FL--Within the pages of My Vietnam: Stories of the War Years from the Inside Out ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-813-8; $28.99, hardcover, 978-1-60957-814-5), a new Xulon Press title from Charlotte Stemple, the author chronicles the experiences of her family working with the Vietnamese in central Vietnam amidst the turmoil of the war years during the 1960s and 1970s. These incredible stories dramatically illustrate the triumphs and heartbreak of life in war-torn Vietnam in a way not yet fully seen or explored. Readers will not only gain rich cultural insight, but also witness marvelous instances in which only God in His sovereignty could weave the threads of hope and healing.

"The stories will captivate, illustrate, and educate readers into the life of the people of Vietnam during those years," the author says. "The humor and poignancy of the chapters will make this a book for 'religious' and 'secular' markets alike. It is a valuable new insight into the Vietnam war years told with humor and poignancy, but also detailing the miraculous story of the growth of the Vietnamese church under pressure."

Stemple says that she contemplated writing a book for many years, but she considered herself an oral storyteller speaker and resisted the discipline, time, and revisions necessary to produce a quality piece of work. Then several things coincided to propel her into motion, and My Vietnam was born. It is her hope that it will bring back good memories to many, heal some memories for others, and give glory to God.
