LONGWOOD, FL-So many women live defeated lives, feeling as though they are not important. They have been put down by others and have begun to believe the lies that take away their self-worth and stomp all over the gifts that have been placed in them. They live beneath the privileges that God has for them because they feel as though they are a nobody. The Dance of Life: Invitation to a Father-Daughter Dance ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60647-027-5) seeks to free these women from bondage while teaching them biblical truths that will help them grow in their relationship with their Creator.

Author B.J. Funk says, "I want my readers to know they are valuable, they have worth, and that God loves them unconditionally. I want them to see God in a different way from the way they might view their earthly father or some other male image in their lives. I want them to know that their Father God is faithful, would never hurt them and that He can be trusted. I want them to feel loved."

A female pastor who spends much of her time counseling women who are in pain, Funk used to have a ministry for the divorced prior to becoming a pastor. Having lived through the pain of divorce, she wanted to show women that there was life after divorce with the help of God. "I have heard many stories of pain from women who sit in my office," she says. "They all have a similar thread: Someone violated them in some way. They have been put down or let down and have been made to feel they don't matter to anyone. [My book] can help them drop their chains called unworthy and begin to live in new freedom."
