LONGWOOD, FL--Depression is a natural response of the body--a sign of the hunger of the soul. Unfortunately, many people around the world--including Christians--have missed the real value of depression. They are spending money for what is not bread and labor for what does not satisfy. The new Xulon Press release, The Grumblings of the Soul ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-720-2), was designed to help open readers' eyes to the truth by revolutionizing the idea of depression and bringing a new definition to it. Within the pages of this book, author J. Gardy Bruno will teach and challenge readers to pay attention and respond effectively to the cry of their soul.

"This book is very direct and easy to understand," the author says. "The book is designed to teach the readers how to listen and understand the cry of the soul. When the stomach grumbles, we listen and we eat; when the soul grumbles, do we know how to listen and to act?"

Bruno, a middle school teacher and advisor, says that although he didn't feel qualified to write this book--for he was in the lowest pit of his life--God had other plans for him. "The Lord wanted me to live and taste the desert before I can teach someone how to survive it," he explains. It is his hope that these writings will resonate with readers from all walks of life who may be struggling with the same things that he did.

J. Gardy Bruno and his wife, Ernise, are happily married and have four children. They are residents of Massachusetts.
