LONGWOOD, FL-Author Seth Parr's newest release from Christian self-publisher Xulon Press, Reasonable Duty: S.L.A.V.E. of Christ (paperback, 978-1-60647-453-2), asks some hard-hitting questions: If we are so different than the rest of the world, why are more than 50% of our marriages falling apart? If Jesus is so great, why are we in love with the world? If the Holy Spirit binds us together, why are we so fractured and lonely sitting in our pews? If Jesus led a life of sacrifice and asked us to do the same, why do we live lives of greed and selfish ambition? The answer is simple: We, as Christians, have forgotten our duty-to equip the saints. If we fail in this area, the body of believers will fail in their areas of expertise; the work of the ministry; and the nurturing of the body of Christ, unity of faith, and knowledge of the Son of God.

Says Parr, "Peter, Paul, James, and John all saw themselves as slaves of Christ. This is radical thinking compared to the Christianity of today. There is a powerful principle at work in the hearts of these early pioneers. [In my book you will] discover the ramifications of their thinking and awaken the servant inside."

Parr, a student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, views his book as the antidote to the fear, anger, depression, selfishness, and apathy that plague our churches today. "By esteeming others better than ourselves, [we] Christians have changed the world and spawned great awakenings; it is the only way to bring about true revival," he says.

Seth Parr currently resides in Covington, Georgia.
