LONGWOOD, FL-God has initiated the ministry of reconciliation through Jesus Christ. In the 21st century, mankind is being assaulted by Satan. Technology has our children enslaved and locked in the house on their computers. Where did riding bicycles, playing hide-and-seek, red light-green light, and other games like these disappear to? Whether you know it or not, the enemy is alive and well. But how do you fight the enemy? How can you overcome sin in your life? Pastor Lonnie J. Davis, Sr., will teach you how in his new book, Overcoming Sin: 40 Days in the Wilderness (paperback, 978-1-60477-798-7), which was just recently released to bookstores.

Says Davis, "I believe Jesus gives us the example of the benefits of spending 40 days in the wilderness by using the Word of God in order to defeat Satan. The 21st century church must remember that Jesus preached, 'Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.' Discipline, therefore, is the evidence of discipleship."

A well-known motivational speaker, author, preacher, teacher, and pastor of Church of Hope in Maryland, Davis' work with the homeless has earned him the title of "Street Savior" and "Rev. Fix-It-Up." Changing lives through his non-profit company-which provided food, clothing, and shelter for 350 homeless people a day-was the discipleship tool that equipped him to overcome sin. He believes his book's testimony will resonate with readers who seek to mature spiritually in the Word of God through whatever means possible.
