LONGWOOD, FL-Growing up in the South, Xulon Press author Ramona Wells Hackney had a blissful childhood filled with fun and happiness. A love of her heritage and the joy of her life gave her a reason to pass on some of those treasured moments and warm feelings to others in the new publication, Bits and Pieces of a Southern Life ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-991-6). Within the pages of this book, which reads like a woman telling her life story to her best friend, readers will receive life lessons on how to be happy without riches. As they read along, they will also find themselves in these pages and become a best friend.

"I hope readers will laugh at the short stories and relate some of the events to what has happened in their own lives," the author says. "Most of the stories are things that we all have in common, just going about our life-especially if we grew up in the South."

Hackney has traveled a lot for work and met many interesting and wonderful people who have influenced her life and the writing of this book. These "small touches of life" will give readers insight into the love and lessons locked in her memories forever. Her hope is that "you may find some of your life in the pages of this book," she says.

Ramona Wells Hackney currently resides in Marietta, Georgia.
