LONGWOOD, FL-Teenagers live in a world that is pushing them in and shutting them down relationally; they hide behind computer screens and iPods, shunning those who struggle to help them navigate the tempestuous waters of life. What Would You Do? 500 Questions to Get Your Teens Talking ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-60477-231-9), by Kevin Mahaffy, Jr., is designed to open the door for conversation that will deepen relationships between families, among friends, or with complete strangers. Arranged in no particular order, the questions contained within this book can be used as time-killers on road trips, icebreakers in small groups, crowd-mixers in large groups, or simply in one-on-one conversations.

Says Mahaffy, "[My book] is a tremendous tool for anyone who wants to enhance their relationships, especially with teenagers. [It] is a fun and effective way to draw them out and open them up so that we can discover their thinking and how to best help them. [It] utilizes a wide variety of questions about all areas of life to open the window into peopleÕs lives and the door to powerful, transformational conversations."

Having been around youth ministry his entire life, the author is passionate about helping teenagers love God. Growing up with a father who served as a youth pastor, camp director, and professor of youth ministry, Mahaffy has been involved in youth ministry himself since 1993, both as a volunteer and vocationally. His experience gives him precious insight into reaching seekers, teaching believers, and releasing leaders in God's kingdom-and he hopes his book will do just that.
