LONGWOOD, FL-In 2006, a popular documentary called The Secret was released to much critical acclaim; in it, viewers were taught the power of positive thinking. Now, one Xulon author--Tracy Harger--compares the most common topics contained within this DVD with Scripture and other sources to clarify the subject and enlighten the reader in Self-Help and the Bible ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-334-8), a new release. While not an in-depth dissertation on the subject of faith, this book seeks to encourage the reader to think and study more in order to find the answers for themselves.

"This book bridges the gap between the self-improvement industry and theology," the author explains. "It seeks to show the common ground between religion and self-help without compromising moral principles. It also contains deep theological issues that are very rare to find in any book on the market."

Harger credits his 25-plus years of study in theology, as well as his extensive knowledge of the principles of self-help, as the impetus behind the writing of this book. It is his hope that the message contained within this book will increase the reader's understanding of faith by giving them a reason to have faith.

Tracy Harger is a theologian living in Northwest Arkansas. He has a varied work history and a military background.
