LONGWOOD, FL-Sometimes serious and sometimes light, the poems contained in Nancy J. Nieken's Poems to Cuddle With (paperback) come straight from the author's heart. The new release from Christian self-publisher Xulon Press gives readers insight into their inner self while exploring the author's own life experiences. As a first-time poet, the author says she drew heavily upon her own life experiences for much of the book's subject matter.

Says Nieken, "I hope this book gives [readers] a little insight into their own lives [and makes them realize that] with God's help you can live through anything the world gives you." A self-professed country girl who just writes poetry for pleasure, the author believes there is a little bit of something for everyone in her new release. "With today's lifestyle you need to sit back and look at yourself and others around you. You need time to enjoy your inner self. Hopefully my poems will [help you] do that after a hard day."

Although she is a relative newcomer to the word of writing, the Motley, Minnesota, resident has already won Editors' Choice awards for two of her poems. Married at the young age of eighteen, she has four children and many grandchildren. In her spare time, she likes to do quilting and gardening along with her writing.
