LONGWOOD, FL-Author Ken Davis' adventure in fly fishing had its beginning long ago, during the middle of the last century. After his father returned from the war, his parents decided to move the family from a big city to a small village through which a small stream named Paint Creek ran. In his new Xulon Press release, The Paint Creek Trout Club ($19.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-254-9), the author recounts how one very special summer of fly fishing on Paint Creek had a lifelong impact on him.

"I learned many things while trying to join 'The Paint Creek Trout Club,'" the author says. "You need to be prepared with the right equipment and the right plan. You must practice with your equipment. You need to know many things in order to make the right plan. I find this kind of preparation is essential in many other areas of your life. Personal, professional, and spiritual preparation are all important."

Davis, a Christian psychologist and professor, believes there should be more books for boys available on the market, and this book is one such attempt to remedy that. Fly fishing has been a way of life for him for almost 60 years, and each year that passes brings with it memories of the small creek where he learned to fish, and how that experience helped mold him into the person he is today.

Ken Davis currently resides in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
