LONGWOOD, FL--For years, Xulon Press author Allan B. Russell mulled over the idea of writing a book. When he finally decided to put pen to paper, there were several directions he could have taken. However, because of his religious convictions, he was moved to concoct fictional stories based on his Christian experience. Resulting from his diligence, Tomato Soup for the Soul: Stories of Triumph, Trial, and Tribulations ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-287-0) came to fruition. This page-turning new work will demonstrate to readers how the Word of God affects people in everyday life. Although it is largely presented without the dogma, its theme is to entertain, educate, and point the reader to the path of salvation.

"Many readers today are past the point of being weary of the same-old-same-old--the explicit sex, the crime, the drugs, and the violence--information which falls short of good family values, ideas that have become known to produce bestsellers," the author says. "Readers need a break; they need a breath of fresh air. Tomato Soup for the Soul is that breath of fresh air. The theme is based on the best family morals. With its biblical references, it not only teaches good family values, but it also helps to lead the reader to God's saving grace."

Russell, a Christian lay minister, says that in order to prepare for the writing of this book, he has attended several Bible study and evangelistic developmental classes and read more than 1,000 books on a variety of subjects. "My total life's experience has produced a wellspring of knowledge which I have joyously shared in the pages of Tomato Soup for the Soul," he explains.
