People would demand immediate steps to correct the situation. That same failure rate, unfortunately, applies to marriages in this country--even Christian marriages--yet there is no outcry. "The mistake is never with God," the author says. "God is absolutely perfect--without fault or blemish. Likewise, there is nothing wrong with the institution of marriage because it was ordained by God. The underlying problem is that the modern marriage is not directly related to the Lord Jesus Christ. Because today's marriages have lost this foundation, they have lost their spiritual significance."
Tuff--who is the pastor and founder of The Way, The Truth and The Life Christian Center, Inc., in Decatur, Georgia--says that the topic is one that is very personal to him. Over the years, he has assessed many marriages, including his own. And he has found a number of possible explanations for the current state of so many failed marriages.
