LONGWOOD, FL--One day as she was out walking, Xulon author Anita Poortenga asked God what He would have her do as a ministry in her new church. It was at that time that God laid upon her heart to do a women's newsletter. The previous church she had attended had a women's newsletter, but she never had anything to contribute to it. What would she write about? She felt as though there were so many other people who were better equipped to do this. But with the help of a few brave women, the first issue was birthed. Within each consecutive newsletter, she assisted readers in understanding Jesus as He is revealed throughout the Bible.
Later, the author was inspired by God to compile all the articles she had written over the course of five years and put them together in book form. She put all of her trust in God and began the project of retyping each article.
