LONGWOOD, FL--Victims of abuse fill the pews of the church, crippling the body of Christ. Many of their testimonies can be used to set people free, enabling them to live the abundant life God has planned for them. Grace in the Shadow of the Cross: One Woman's Journey from the Darkness of Abuse into the Light of God's Love ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-614-1) is one such testimony. This new book from Xulon Press author Ann Jorgensen is a creative autobiography about how one little girl's unspeakable abuse became one joyful woman's testimony of healing. This true story is told in three voices: the author's firsthand experiences are described through the characters of Grace, Father God, and Deceiver.

"I share my story because I want others to be set free from the pain of their past," the author says. "It is my prayer that, as people read my book, they will be encouraged and find hope. It is my prayer that they will learn how to enter into the presence of God and find healing for their souls."

Jorgensen, who writes from her home in San Antonio, Texas, says that in addition to having personal experience with overcoming abuse, she is president and co-founder of The Word of Our Testimony, Inc., a ministry devoted to sharing individual stories of God's deliverance.
