LONGWOOD, FL--Gain a glimpse into the rarely explored theological and religious history of Roman Catholicism in author Martin Hudale's The Matrix of Mysticism ($24.99, paperback, 978-1-60647-657-4). This book argues that while under the influence of humanistic and mystical teachings integrated into the Catholic Church by its historical assimilation of Platonic, Gnostic, Stoic, and Neo-Platonic tenets--many Catholic priests committed vicious acts of homosexual molestation against adolescent boys and children. Using the 2002 clergy sexual abuse scandal as a launching pad, the author exposes the cause and effect relationship between Catholicism's celibate monastic mysticism and its long history of clerical sexual dysfunctions.

"The most important message in this book is a call for a moral and spiritual revival of both Catholics and Protestants that will motivate them to start a New Reformation in a world where man is religiously drowning in a sea of moral decadence and ungodly spirituality," the author says. "The tentacles of Catholicism's ecumenical outreach into Protestant and evangelical churches are gradually seducing many Protestants into the occult practices of Eastern mysticism and the veneration of the Virgin Mary."

Hudale spent 12 years in pre-Vatican II Catholic boarding schools and seminaries. During this time, he studied various Roman Catholic doctrines pertaining to dogmatic, moral, ecclesiastical, sacramental, and patristic theology. After being ordained a Catholic priest, he worked for four years at an inner city parish where his awareness of the homosexual and immoral lifestyles among some of his fellow priests caused him to leave the priesthood. After becoming a born-again Christian at the age of 40, he devoted 25 years to researching and writing this book in the hope that he might expose Catholicism's ascetic mysticism and counterfeit spirituality that is not the biblical way leading to eternal life but the way of Satan leading to eternal death.
