Problems are Opportunities tells the story of when tragedy strikes at home: the father rejects the mother’s entire family. The mother loses her zest for life and their daughters, Yvonne and Mary Ellen, live with a fear of rejection. Would their parents reject them, too? Problems are Opportunities follows Mary Ellen as she divorces two husbands and rejects two of her children. These events lead to a cycle of rejection reaching through the third and fourth generations. The book continues to engage audiences when Yvonne tries to avoid the same fate by pleasing her parents, but finds turmoil instead. Just then, Yvonne experiences God’s grace and begins to talk to Him about her problems.
Yvonne Posthuma became a Christian at the age of twelve through the ministry of the American Sunday School Union. She is the mother of two sons and a grandmother of four. Posthuma explains that when her children were young she began to sense that God wanted her to write a book about her life to help others. While trusting Him, she graduated from Davenport University and was a member of Lunch Bunch Toastmasters for five years. Posthuma was a member of the West Michigan Fellowship of Christian Writers for one year, is a current member of Word Weavers of West Michigan and was an Administrative Assistant for twenty-one years.
