MAITLAND, FL— The new novel by Cedric Phillips, Memoirs of the Thirteenth Disciple ($30.99, paperback, 978-1-61904-772-3; $45.99, hardcover, 978-16-1904-773-0; $9.99, eBook, 978-1-61904-774-7), will take readers on a Biblical journey that follows Idan ben Orem. He is the last living person to have been touched by Jesus Christ and has lived a privileged life few men have experienced. This fictional work is a great adventure of Christianity as it provides a view of religion that existed before denominations were cultivated, before the books of the New Testament were written and it explains how Christianity is woven into Judaism.

“Through Christ, we can now go directly to God and not pray through a temple, priest or consult a soothsayer,” states the author. “Man has an inherent nature that drives him to worship a god. Absent a god, he will invent one or more. This book speaks of a single God. It questions why anyone would worship the god of the sea when one can worship the God who created the sea. A God who made it all.”

Cedric Phillips is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran. During his service he became acquainted with North Africa and the Middle East. In 1999 he and his wife had the opportunity to tour the Holy Land and Egypt. He came to appreciate the rich history of the area of Jesus Christ and the Pharaohs. In order to put it all into perspective, he wrote this novel to assist him in better understanding his Christian religion and how Christian messages have spread throughout the world.
