MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Sarah Liborio’s
new book, My Once Upon a Time ($25.99, paperback, 978-1-61379-101-1; $41.99,
hardcover, 978-1-61379-102-8; $9.99, eBook, 978-1-61904-966-6), readers will find themselves swept up in a
real-life love story that will also take them on a journey through the mission
field in the Dominican Republic. All was right in the Liborio’s life. Their
marriage had been approved and blessed by the Lord; they were living and
working in the mission field and very much in love. Then, the unthinkable
happened. The Lord chose to take Sarah’s husband home at the age of
twenty-nine, long before the couple had done all the work they had planned to
do. This book tells of a woman’s faith in the Lord and her life as a widow,
caring for her two small children and living in the Dominican Republic.
“I pray people
will see that life is not about us, it is about doing everything possible to
give glory to the Lord in all we do. I want my readers to know a life dedicated
to the Lord, no matter what the cost, is possible and worth it,” Liborio
expresses. “God used a man named Hugo to change my life dramatically at age
nineteen and then again at age twenty-nine. This book is a little bit about
what happened before and after those two ages in my life, but it’s mostly about
the divine adventure that took place during those ten years.”
Sarah Liborio is
a full-time missionary for SCORE International. She lives and serves in the
Dominican Republic with her two small children. Her passion is working with
women’s ministries including one-on-one discipleships, and a prostitution
ministry called Lily House. Her greatest ministry, however, and the most
challenging, is raising her two children, Mattias and Layla. Liborio prays
daily that God will use her to help them grow to be strong followers of Jesus.
