MAITLAND, FL— Hitler’s rise to power is one of the most controversial moments in World History. It is an event covered in every History class around the world, yet some key pieces are still missing from most instructors’ teaching plans. Hedi Steinmeier Jones’s new book, Under the Shadow of the Almighty ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60034-665-1; $7.49, eBook, 978-1-61996-097-8), covers one of Hitler’s lesser known plans, which was to involve restoring German citizenship to the ethnic Germans living all across Europe and to resettle them in the “Promised Land,” which also happened to be the territories east of Germany that had been taken from Poland and Czechoslovakia. This book documents the experiences of Jones’s immediate and extended family as they made the journey to the newly acquired land by Hitler. Most importantly, Jones successfully shows the amazing protection of God over his family in wartime Nazi Germany.

“This is an inspirational story told by one of the remaining few with memories of World War II,” states the author. “Under the Shadow of the Almighty is a civilian survivor’s view of the horrors of war, which to this day continues to shatter lives and causes untold suffering to everyone involved. I hope readers will take away faith, hope and courage in the knowledge that what God has done for others, He is able to do for them as well.”

Hedi Steinmeier Jones is a native of Saxon Transylvania, part of present day Romania. Her family was transplanted to Germany during WWII under Hitler’s plan to unite all ethnic Germans into one vast Super-Reich. Jones experienced first hand the bombings and the horror of the war. She went through nurses training in England and after twenty years of residence there with her family, they moved to the United States.
