MAITLAND, FL— David Bales’s new book, My Home Is Not Broken: Responding to Divorce & Suffering in Redemptive History ($16.99, paperback, 978-1-62509-810-8; $8.99, e-book, 978-1-62509-811-5) explains how God provides hope through His plan of redemption for all people and families. He does so through difficult situations—especially divorce—by showing the perfect love, forgiveness and sacrifice that Jesus did throughout his difficult life.

“[This book] gives hope for everyone, no matter what is in their past and no matter what has happened to them,” states the author. “…The answer to our problem of divorce and suffering is not something new or yet to be discovered, but has been part of God’s plan of redemption which he provided for all of us the very moment Adam disobeyed in the Garden of Eden. We respond to this plan through faith which issues in simple obedience to the Word of God.”

Of his expertise, the author expresses: “I have experienced divorce and am raising my children according to the principles found within my book. God has blessed my house with his love and his presence.” The author holds a B.A. in biblical studies, having also minored in biblical languages. He adds, “In order to strengthen my credibility for a book that focuses entirely on the content of the Bible, I continued my education toward a Master’s degree in biblical studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Perhaps even more important than my formal education is my love of and devotion to personal study of the Bible which I also have had the honor of teaching for many years.”
