MAITLAND, FL— Paul Bersche’s new book, God’s
Passionate Desire… for unity in the church! ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-62509-566-4; $5.99, e-book, 978-1-62509-567-1) explains that, according to the
Bible, Jesus prayed that His Church would be “…one just as we are one.” The
author expounds, “That prayer was not a suggestion, it was and is, His divine
mandate upon His Church. The Church has chosen a ‘good-enough-for now’ optional
hybrid as an alternative.”
“This is a life-changing and Church challenging message,” states the author. “Unity—Jesus-style—is not only possible, it is God’s imperative! It will cost every Christian the same price Jesus paid, to bring you and me to unity with/in Him… Cross-like sacrifice!”
Pastor Paul, as he is affectionately known, has been married to, and in pastoral ministry with his wife Carolyn for over fifty-six years. During those fruitful years, they discipled and trained pastoral leadership for planting many churches, sent out from those churches, numerous well-equipped missionaries and spiritually “parented” an unknown number of mature spiritual leaders for ministry in the kingdom of God. Under the call of God in 1989, the two moved a medium sized, all-white congregation, to the city of Detroit to be a catalyst for racial and cross-denominational reconciliation. Of this pivotal event, Paul Bersche comments, “That is intentional unity.”
