MAITLAND, FL— John W. Tucker’s new book, Dragon Riders of The Realm: A Test of Faith and Friendship ($18.99, paperback, 9781626974753; $9.99, e-book, 9781626974760) is the first of a captivating, fantasy series. The protagonist, James, is a teenager who creates a video game that allows him to escape reality and dodge the bullies in his personal life. The storyline takes an unexpected turn as James and his friend, Kevin, find themselves inside the video game; they are transported to a far-away land with remarkable surroundings, where amiable dragons teach them how to face any conceivable problem. Tucker enriches this novel by including Christian principles, which young readers can greatly benefit from.

“For young adults under peer pressure, it’s hard to remember that Jesus Christ is really a close friend,” states the author. “Making prayer, Bible reading, Bible study, Bible verse memorization a part of one’s daily spiritual food can make a big difference in how they face the challenges at school and at home. My books bring all of these options and more to the forefront. They worked for me when I was a struggling teenager.”

John W. Tucker has volunteered with Youth For Christ as a teenager, and was exposed to high school kids in many different struggles. In the past, the author has also volunteered with his church in the youth ministry. These experiences certainly lend to his expertise. The author adds, “I know [young adults’] personal problems and challenges. I was a senior pastor for two years, a children’s pastor for over fifteen years, attended numerous youth ministry events, camps, and worked in children’s and youth ministry over the last three decades. I have taught puppetry, storytelling, clowning, juggling, acting and drama classes, which young people have attended. I have a Bachelor of Arts in speech and drama, and a Master’s degree in divinity.”
