MAITLAND, FL— Dr. Dorothy J. Thomas’s new book, Down In The Valley—“Weeping May Endure For A Night” ($13.99, paperback, 9781498401777; $6.99, e-book, 9781498401784) communicates that the loss of a loved one is a very tragic and sad occurrence. Grief is a process that takes time, hope, and faith. However, there is joy after a period in the valley—joy that is given by God, and can carry anyone through one of the most painful events in his or her life.

“I hope that the reader will be able to reflect on the memories of their loved one in a positive way,” states the author. “To gradually, over time, understand that death is a part of our life cycle. Healing is not only possible, but with time, the wounds of grief will heal, and the pain they experience will subside. After they have completed the reading of the book, I hope they will know that God loves them and is with them.”

Dr. Dorothy J. Thomas has a Master’s and Doctorate degree in counseling, focusing on behavior health. She is an addictions expert, who has hosted a radio show called Recovery Radio. The author is an adjunct professor, speaker, and writes for a health magazine and newsletter. She has appeared on TV, and has been interviewed on several radio programs. Dr. Thomas has worked with women who have suffered with addictions, grief, loss and domestic violence. She is a widow, whose husband died nearly seven years ago. She knows first-hand what the valley experience was like for her, and shares how God helped her through this experience.
