MAITLAND, FL— With her new book, Life Changes: Growing Up With an Alcoholic Father, ($15.99, paperback, 9781498405492; $7.99, e-book, 9781498405508) Tiffany Traynham Klappenbach speaks candidly about her father’s drinking problem, and the negative influence that it had on her for many years. She goes on to acknowledge that countless people—namely, the alcoholic’s loved ones and family—suffer the ill effects of alcoholism. The effects can last a lifetime, but the author insists that they don't have to.

“The use of alcohol is a problem in our society,” states the author. “If parents drink, their character is changed, and they can't properly raise their children. The child’s growing up is ‘stunted’ in some way, or ways, whether they become alcoholics or not.”

Tiffany Traynham Klappenbach is a wife, mother, grandmother, writer, and speaker. Her freelance writing career began over thirty years ago, when she was shy and lacked self-confidence. At about the same time she began writing, she became interested in genealogy, and her life changed. She wanted to tell the world about her ancestors’ accomplishments. She joined heredity societies and became involved on the local and state levels, and learned to give speeches about her ancestors. She held committee chairmanships and offices of chaplain and president. She now enjoys telling her story, and seeks out ways to do so. She teaches a group of senior adults in Sunday school, and gives devotions for her church circle.
