MAITLAND, FL— In his new book, The
Buddy Tales, ($8.99, paperback, 9781498413114; $4.99, e-book, 9781498413121) Neil
Alexander lovingly emphasizes the importance of friendship. The novel was
created for pre-teen readers, ranging all the way up to animal lovers of all
ages. It tells the story of when Mindy the kitten, James the hamster, and Bella
the hamster get adopted into the “little cottage,” and they each find
themselves to be the new face in a house full of animal friends. They soon
discover the many adventures that they will have together, and the many
friendships that will develop between them.
“I feel that my book is different because most children's books about small animals are quite unrealistic in nature,” states the author. “This book is not at all like that. It shows the way that the small animals live and interact in a family environment, and yet shows how they can develop friendships between each other. I hope that readers take away the concept that friendships can be developed in the most unlikely of places, and that they can be developed between anyone, anywhere.”
Neil Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in honors French language and literature. Over the course of his lifetime, the author has had to care for many small animals, and has seen firsthand how they develop relationships between each other. His experiences inspired this book.
