MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of his new book, Moments with the Master: 365 Day Poetry Devotional, ($26.99, paperback, 9781498419239; $37.99, hardcover, 9781498419246; $9.99, e-book, 9781498419253) Steve Parr shares original poems in Haiku form, based on Scriptures and inspired insights. His purpose for doing so is to import wise ways to treat one another to reflect God’s character and His way of life, like in the wisdom literature of the five books of poetry (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastics, and Song of Solomon). Furthermore, his book was written to be utilized as a devotional, providing a set of poetry for each day of the year.

“My goal is to encourage Christians to open themselves up to the instruction of the Holy Spirit, who gives wisdom in righteousness,” states the author. “I hope that readers will obtain understanding and wisdom in all areas of life, because all who pay heed to biblical wisdom will become wise.”

Steve Parr is from North Little Rock, AR, and attended Vanderbilt University on a football scholarship. A participant in Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry, he began attending Campus Crusade for Christ meetings during his junior and senior years at Vanderbilt where he met his wife-to-be, Sue Lipford. They have been married thirty-eight years; have three grown children and two grandsons. Steve attended Reformed Theological Seminary after an eighteen-year career at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as an international specialist. Steve hopes to encourage Christians to spend increasing amounts of time with God by publishing his books for church members that are serious about their walks with God.
