MAITLAND, FL— As I raced toward earth at 120 miles per hour, with no more than five seconds left to live, I pulled on the ripcord grip handle on my reserve parachute again, with all my might. I knew my life depended on this reserve chute, and I knew the seconds were quickly evaporating… Within the pages of his new book, Falling Into Grace: A True Story of Marines, Sabotage, and Redemption, ($14.99, paperback, 9781498423502; $7.99, e-book, 9781498423519) readers will hear Michael Dietrich’s side of an eerie parachute sabotage. The real event, which made local and international headlines, could have potentially taken Dietrich’s life and the lives of twelve other Marines. The author describes facing personal weakness during this time, as well as taking on the challenge of forgiving the saboteur whose reckless actions had threatened his life. This series of events caused Dietrich to see that he had only allowed God to be a background figure in his life. He chose to change, and gave God His rightful place as King of every aspect of his life.

“This book is action-packed, thought-provoking, and vulnerably transparent—written in such a way that transports the reader into the author’s shoes,” states a reader. “It’s a compelling ‘who done it’ book combined with a story of spiritual awakening and surrender.”

Author Michael Dietrich has wanted to parachute from a plane since he was a little boy, and his childhood dream came true when serving as commander of the elite Marine Corps air delivery platoon, stationed on Camp Lejeune and later deployed to Iraq. Four years later, Dietrich returned to civilian life, working as an industrial engineer and serving as a deacon and Bible teacher in a local church. Currently, he and his wife, Mary, live in Florida where they are engaged in the challenging adventure of homeschooling their nine children.
