MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Lila Ellexson Senter’s new book, The
Gift, ($11.99, paperback, 9781498409810; $5.99, e-book, 9781498409827) readers
will find uplifting anecdotes and Bible verses that highlight the true meaning
of Christmas. The author shares a compilation of the “word gifts”—stories, poems,
and quotations—that her family and friends have given each other over the
years. These gifts are meant to inspire the reader’s devotion to God during the
Christmas season and all year long.
“[I want readers to] feel the blessings of one's faith, love, family, and friends—to take some moments to be still, quiet one's mind & release stress. Why? Our faith is so important to life's well-being, and stress not relieved is what causes much illness,” states the author. “It is a book about love and hope, and is a gift for Abilene Hope Haven to secure & support its mission: Curing Homelessness one person at a time. All of my proceeds go to build the Hope Haven endowment.”
Lila Ellexson Senter is a retired social worker living in Abilene, Texas. She and her husband Bill, with whom she raised three children, enjoy traveling, reading, and volunteering in their community. This book was written as a way to promote and support the work of Abilene Hope Haven, a local shelter in the Senters’ hometown.
