MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Maureen
Anderson’s new book, Lambs in the Wilderness, ($9.99,
paperback, 9781498442381; $4.99, e-book, 9781498442398) readers will join four
misfit dogs who are commanded by the Good Shepherd to bring a flock of little
lambs to His Father’s mansion on Eternal Mountain. The dogs must venture
through Fearsome Forest and defend the lambs against Slinky Slick, the hungry
mountain lion. Children and their parents will see scripture in action, as the
Lord guides the dogs and flock toward their destination. Geared toward readers
in grades two through eight, the book includes embedded Biblical passages,
vocabulary-building phrasing, and detailed illustrations.
“The book is a wonderful tool for showing children how the Lord loves them just as they are, and how He will enable them to fulfill their destinies in Christ,” states the author. “They will see that the Lord is always faithful. The illustrator and I are just unremarkable, everyday Christians who desire to honor Him.”
Maureen Anderson is a mother of three, grandmother of five, and a retired school teacher for students with multiple handicaps. Her love of dogs and dairy goats inspired her to write a children’s book about how the Lord herds His followers in the right direction and protects them against dangerous foes. She is known locally for sharing her original, scripture-based stories in classrooms, and as an avid reader of the Bible.
