MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Jan Allen’s new book, Have Breast Cancer Will Travel – Postcards From My Journey, ($15.49, paperback, 9781498449519; $7.99, e-book, 9781498449526) readers will get an intimate look into the author’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatments – her personal diary from diagnosis through triumph. With her passion for travel, Jan approached Stage II, grade 3 aggressive Breast Cancer as a journey – relying on her faith and a wonderfully supportive husband, family and community. Through her detailed “postcards”, she will truly inspire readers with the story of her yearlong exhaustive fight. Jan’s easy-to-read, intimate style is encouraging to all – whether it’s cancer or another crisis that one may be facing today.

“I hope that those readers with a breast cancer diagnosis know that they are never alone in this fight – there is a community of pink warriors at the ready,” states the author. “A wide range of emotions are normal and part of the journey including worry, fear, and even joy and laughter. I hope that caregivers and others will read this book and understand the value of supporting those in their community of family, friends and colleagues who have been diagnosed with cancer.”

Jan Allen has been traveling the world since she was 17 years old, including several years as a Pan Am Flight Attendant. She also represented the Caribbean island of Aruba to the western US for more than six years. Her longest and most difficult trip has been the journey through her breast cancer diagnosis and treatments. As a breast cancer survivor since 2010, Jan’s new passion for others with the disease has led her to raise thousands of dollars for breast cancer charities and to share her story to encourage others.
