MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Jana Taylor’s new book, Devotion, ($20.99, paperback, 9781498433129; $9.99, e-book, 9781498433136) readers will discover a fictional story relating to the persecution of Christians who remain strong in their faith – those who fight for freedom in the United States – experiencing the type of persecution seen around the world. Nineteen-year-old Jade struggles with knowing her parents were arrested because they smuggled Scriptures. It left Jade and her sister fighting to survive in the city. She has become a Scripture smuggler, but with the control of the government and its soldiers, can she continue to safely cross Scriptures into the city? Twenty-one-year old Kendrick remembers his life on the streets. But he is no longer in the beaten-down city. He has become a rebel fighter, battling to save what the government has taken – until he meets someone unexpected. Can Kendrick continue to fight against the government and save the one he loves?

“I hope readers will be reminded of the strength God gives us even under the most extreme persecution,” states the author. “Devotion is a vivid reminder to pray continually for the persecuted church everywhere.

Jana Taylor is an author, business owner, wife and mother. She is the daughter of a pastor who's been in the ministry for over thirty years. When she was a child, he put the books of martyrs in front of her. She read the stories of people – young and old – who gave their lives for Christ. She has traveled to countries around the world with communities in which she could not say the name of Jesus. The persecuted church is something she has a passion for, and she wanted to explore the idea of extreme persecution in the United States. Devotion is her first novel – a part of a series of books based on a future United States in which the Scriptures are banned.
