MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Wayne Hunt’s new book, Indestructible Armor - Operation Desert Sand, ($16.99, paperback, 9781498448819; $26.99, hardcover, 9781498448826) readers will discover a true-to-life story vividly describing the deadly encounters experienced by American private military contractors in Afghanistan and Iraq. Radiating with exuberance and a penetrating degree of passion, this book details one man’s journey back to the sand and barren landscape of the Mohave Desert, some 7,000 miles from the crises overseas, leading to his personal struggle and “crisis” of faith. These life-altering events ultimately led to his transformation from a “non-practicing” believer to a true Christian soldier and follower of Christ. Wayne Hunt wrote this book to help others create a pathway to becoming Godly men and women while revealing the love and grace of God – speaking especially to those in doubt.

Beginning with the Foreword written by Kris "Tanto" Paronto, former Army Ranger, Blackwater detail leader, member of the elite CIA Global Response Staff, and co-author of NY Times best seller, 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi, this book is very timely as it describes even further the role that private military contractors played in America’s “War on Terror.” With real life photos and topical illustrations, this story relates conflict, impact, and human interest at a time when people the world over are being persecuted and killed because of their faith. Indestructible Armor expounds on the belief that Religion can be very different from having a personal Relationship with God.

Wayne Hunt was a career law enforcement officer, later appointed as a Chief of Police in Vermont. He was also a certified instructor of criminal law at the Vermont Police Academy. Serving in Afghanistan as a security coordinator on the USAID “Rehabilitation of Economic Facilities and Services” program, Mr. Hunt later deployed with Blackwater Worldwide on the Department of State “High Threat Protection Iraq Mission.” After co-founding Source Group International, an Orlando, Florida investigative & security services firm, he teamed with Blackwater on the FEMA Katrina Relief Program. Mr. Hunt is currently a background investigator on a contract with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. He has also taught as an adjunct instructor of criminal justice on a collegiate level, and volunteered as a homelessness prevention advocate at his church.  He is a member of the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security and the American Society for Industrial Security International.
