As per the author, over 45% of the baseball players in the Hall of Fame trained at the Spa including players such as Cap Anson, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson, Babe Ruth, Cool Papa Bell, Satchel Paige, Branch Rickey, and Roy Campanella. To add to the excitement, Hank Aaron and Jackie Robinson each played a game at Hot Springs during the 1950s. Duren’s research relates important facts and nostalgia about major league baseball spring training including teams such as the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, New York Highlanders – and many more that trained in the city.
