MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Barbara Solomon’s new book, Princess Kamala and The Attack of King Timaeus, ($12.99, paperback, 9781498420723; $23.99, hardcover, 9781498420730; $6.99, e-book, 9781498427586) readers will follow the fictional story of Princess Kamala – whose favorite story was the attack of King Timaeus. As the story unfolds, Princess Kamala is sent a message from the Queen Mother, that King Timaeus is planning to launch an attack against their village. She immediately relays the message to the village elders, who ignore her warnings. Princess Kamala is hurt by their rebuff, but does not give up and continues to pursue a plan to protect and save the village from attack. The story happens thousands of years ago, but the parallel between then and now, are very similar to the problems of today. This book inspires and motivates readers not to give up if your cause is just, even if others do.

This story takes places centuries ago in Africa but the message of forgiveness is profound,” states the author. “Through the act of forgiveness the village of Jenne-Jeno is set free to continue living without fear. When we forgive our enemies it releases our primitive emotions and brings us to a higher spirituality that is closer to God. Forgiveness seems impossible at first glance but as God forgives us daily for our sins, we must learn to forgive each other.

Barbara Solomon has spent most of her life teaching and is a retired Professor from the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City. She attended Morgan State University for her BS degree in Physical Education and Lehman College for her Masters Degree in Education. Most of her career has been spent teaching and directing performances. After retirement she began to study bookbinding and organized her company, Adzua Art Associates. From the company she developed Adzua Book Art. With this – her fourth children’s book – she has found a way to tell a story using words instead of choreographed steps. Princess Kamala stories have evolved into a series of stories that describe life in ancient Africa. This particular story explains and demonstrates the organizational, military, building skills, of one village that led to the federalization of an entire region, in response to impending attack. Her books tell the story of the rise of great empires. History teaches that all empires live for a time and then fall.
