MAITLAND, FL— Toya Lorraine Gooden’s new book, Lyric's Lenses, ($9.99, paperback, 9781498440615; $4.99, e-book, 9781498440622) follows Lyric, a fourth grader, who wants to make friends but this is difficult because she walks differently. God intervenes and gives Lyric a set of lenses to see that He is taking care of her. Her lenses show her to pray for her classmates. It’s a meaningful portrayal of a courageous girl who hasn't let what life has thrown at her, in the form of spastic cerebral palsy, stop her from achieving dreams, making friends, and looking at the blessings in life. Her strong faith in God influences her to see that God chose this condition in her life to push her to seek more of life than ever before. The metaphor of Lyric's Lenses from God will show readers of all ages that when a person looks at the world from a different perspective, he or she will see more than meets the eye. As Lyric shows by seeing possibility in her life through God's lenses, readers will see the same if they view life through the same lenses.

I hope readers with physical challenges can be encouraged by God's faithfulness and that God has a purpose and a plan for everyone's life because He created us all,” states the author. “My philosophy is: If I can do it, so can you. Just trust God.”
