MAITLAND, FL— Derek M. Cranstoun Sr.’s new book, The Tithe - Is It For Us Today?, ($11.99, paperback, 9781619966024) explores the much controversial Tithe debate – a mandatory monetary donation to the church. The author makes the point that Christians do NOT have to pay tithes (10% of income) as a commandment to the church. The book persuasively presents Acts 15 as the linchpin argument against the modern day practice of paying tithes. After reading other books on this topic, the author believes that the church is split 50/50 on the subject. This book provides the genuine answers the church is looking for.

Readers will gain the knowledge that God has set people free from the bondage of the Law and a giving relationship with God built on the love that he showed though Jesus Christ at the cross,” states the author.

In 1973 Derek M. Cranstoun Sr. was born again in an Apostolic Church in Columbus, Ohio. He was baptized in Jesus name and came up out of the water speaking with other tongues. He served as a deacon with the gift of tongues and interpretation in two churches from 1973 until 2008 where circumstances led him back to his original church where he serves as a deacon/trustee closer to home. His commitment to time spent in studying, praying, and listening to the voice of God is God's strongest calling and connection to him.
