MAITLAND, FL— B.A. Eddie’s new book, When You See The Light - The Struggle To Be Free, ($10.99, paperback, 9781498445238; $5.99, e-book, 9781498445245) tells a heart wrenching story of a woman who missed all the signs; the control she miss-took for love; the secrets she overlooked that set in motion the framework for the isolation, humiliation and domination by an evil man. She had it all and was on her way to accomplishing her dreams. She then fell in love and married the man she thought was Mr. Right until he showed himself as the Devil in disguise. She suffers unspeakable harm and acts of violence. Along the way she finds comfort and love from the only good that came from the marriage; her son, kind friends, and the God she will come to know. She learns the ultimate lesson that physical abuse should never be tolerated – not even for the sake of the children or to save a marriage. This powerful story is gripping from start to finish and cuts across the boundaries of age, race, religion, and gender. The author sets out to empower victims of abuse and in relationships, to engage every asset available to them in the interest of their survival as well as freedom of the family.

There is a thin line between expressions of love and acts of manipulation,” states the author. “What one spouse may interpret as love could well be a manipulative ploy on the part of the other. One's faith could be a pillar of support throughout the ordeal of an abusive relationship, as we see the main character standing strongly in faith. In miraculous ways a family was mended.”

B.A. Eddie is a native of Guyana, where she obtained her elementary and secondary education. She then moved to London, England and later migrated to the U.S.A. and settled in Brooklyn, New York. She is a paralegal and works with the elderly. Life in Guyana laid the foundation for this novel. She grew up in a time when domestic and other forms of abuse were grossly overlooked, and even accepted as a way of life. This book emphasizes those issues and could very well be the source of empowerment for someone who feels there is no way out from abuse.
