MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Thomas J. Patrick’s new book, To Be Sure Not... - What Just Happened?, ($15.49, paperback, 9781498480741; $7.99, e-book, 9781498480758) the author tells his story to help individuals look back at past events in their own lives with a different perspective – allowing them to embrace what the future holds with hope. His relatable stories focus on moments in his life where he applied biblical scripture in a way that is applicable to the readers’ experiences as well. Some lessons were simple, some were hard, and some seemed quite unfair, while others were just embarrassing. Yet God has never failed to reveal Himself to Thomas in ways that helped him truly understand who he really was and how far he was from being who He wanted him to be – so that He could use him for His purpose and His glory.

The author writes with a friendly, conversational voice – sounding warm, caring, and genuinely concerned with helping readers improve their own lives through his stories of experience. His knowledge of the scripture is evident through his explanations, and his passion for God’s Word is much apparent. Each chapter is focused on its own story – including related stories from the Bible and scripture – presenting impactful universal life lessons. Thomas does an outstanding job encouraging everyone to know that God loves his children far more than any one person can love oneself and that His love will sustain a person through many dark trials.

I would like for readers to have a better understanding of how God works in our lives for our behalf,” states the author. “Just because it may look bad doesn’t mean that it is the enemy acting alone. A good Father chastens his children so that they may grow and abound in His kingdom.”

Thomas J. Patrick has been a life long resident of northeastern North Carolina. Raised in a small farming community, the world seemed so far away almost as distant as the planets themselves. This all changed on October 9, 1980 when he had his “one on one” with Jesus Christ. In a matter of minutes a new creature with a new purpose emerged. The world became somewhat smaller when he relocated to New York to attend Long Island Bible Institute. This proved to be an exercise in faith that is still to this day priceless. During those years Christ became more personal and intimate, the essence of life itself. And now after thirty-six years in ministry, he takes a glimpse back so that others may learn to better appreciate all the trials and moments of dismay.
