Throughout his autobiography, readers will see how the verse of Jeremiah 29:11 has always been prevalent in James’ life – a verse revealing that no matter the struggle, God always has greater plans ahead. Reflecting on the anomalies and divine interventions expressed in this book, it is clear that God scripted James’ life from the beginning almost seventy years ago. These anomalies are intertwined like a web of dots and demonstrated His faith in James long before he knew Him and His awesome power over the universe.

Seventy years ago, James Boston Bussell was born in Lynch, (Harlan County) Kentucky. He was the son of an African-American coal miner. At eight years old, following his father’s death by natural causes, the family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. James has had an amazing life and with every situation he faced, he credits God for His guiding hands – including confronting incidences of hatred, racial prejudice and discrimination. James never gave up the hope knowing God would lead his actions and keep situations from escalating into something worse.
James joined the U. S. Army at age seventeen and served in the Republic of Vietnam from August 1965 to March 1967, where he was award both the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals for his service. He later enrolled at the University of Tennessee graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. James produced a gospel music album for his church’s youth choir. He also produced and hosted a public affairs television program for a local NBC affiliate station without compensation – offering his services as a means of graciously giving something back to the community.
