Carol Gay’s new book, The Rock - Retreat Without Walls, ($18.99, paperback, 9781498478274; $9.99, e-book, 9781498478281) tells the story of a young woman’s life long dream to create The Rock, a top notch Christian Retreat Center at her family’s farm in scenic Bedford County, Pennslyvania. Based on the author’s true story, she candidly recounts her unusual journey through some painful, confusing, and complicated situations that embroidered a rare bookmark to become a repository for others to examine their own lives.

This author describes The Rock, a beautiful farmhouse tucked among several acres of land, that became a spiritual retreat for youth groups, stressed adults and even spunky senior citizens.  She explains that The Rock represents going to a place of rest and calm to unite again with Jesus in body, mind and spirit. It is an entertaining, sometimes humorous, and emotionally moving account of how God works in each person through their successes in life as well as their most painful times.

When your life seems out of control to the point that you want to run away from it all, the reading of this book will help you to let go of your problems and point you to the only worry-free pathway to a life of happiness,” states the author. “It will become your personal retreat without walls.”
