MAITLAND, FL—Sheila Gravett’s new book Just As I Am ($11.99, paperback, 9781498480055; $5.99, eBook,
9781498480062) shares with readers that though we are incomplete in some
way, we can still live completely through Christ. Our life with Him develops
within us a self-confidence, by the way of our soul lending to a
self-acceptance because first we are loved and accepted by him. His acceptance
leads us to accept ourselves, just as we are, yet growing daily as His Spirit
works within us as stated in His Word. No matter their perceived limitations;
physical, emotional, circumstantial, situational, readers will see that they
can live each day fully and completely accepting themselves and growing in the
knowledge of His love and purpose for their life.
Gravett says, “I
believe, Just As I Am, contains
elements that many individuals experience at some point in time in their life.
These experiences are not meant to be limitations to exploit weaknesses but
opportunities for a coming of strength as defined by God within each of us.
Though each of our experiences and limitations, our incomplete states, may be
different our universal concerns are similar; how can we live complete,
successful lives? Just As I Am
encourages others - no matter what we face in life, we can live a complete,
successful, purpose-filled life with Christ.”
As
an amputee Sheila Gravett has personally experienced the feelings of being incomplete
physically and has also struggled with self-identity, self-image and the emotional
challenges of depression and anxiety. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology
and Sociology, and two Masters degrees one in teaching and one in counseling.
Gravett has worked in the field of education as a teacher or a school counselor
for the past 17 years. As a school counselor, evangelist and women's conference
speaker she has worked with many individuals who experience feeling incomplete;
physically, emotionally or spiritually for the challenges they face in their
lives.
