MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Juan Roman’s
new book, My Life, My Journey, My Walk With God, ($14.49, paperback, 9781545609897; $6.99, e-book, 9781545609903) he
reveals how he overcame his troubled childhood in a tough Brooklyn neighborhood
influenced by drugs, gangs, and violence. After years of struggling with sin
and relationships as a young man, his marriage and fatherhood were on the line
until he surrendered his life to God. Alongside the story of his repentance,
Roman includes thoughtful reflections on Christian life and faith.
“You can be a
street kid and find God,” states the author. “You can grow up in the worst
neighborhood and God will walk with you in your journey. When you struggle, God
is there. When you’re hurt, God is there to heal you. It doesn't matter your
background or race; we are God's children.”
Juan
Roman has worked at a city agency in New York City for over twenty-six years,
climbing the ranks to become a manager. He won a prestigious Manager of the
Year award in 2010. He also serves as a youth minister at his parish.
