Loren Hardin is a Lead Social Worker
at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Over the span of his
forty-two-year career as a medical social worker, he has worked in various
roles, including inpatient psychiatric care, home health care, inpatient
physical rehabilitation, emergency room social work, hospital discharge
planning, fifteen years as the director of a hospital social work department
and for the past twenty-four years as a hospice social worker. He and his wife,
Susie, have been married for forty-two years and have three adult daughters and
two minor grandchildren. It has been the author’s life-long ambition and
endeavor to search and understand God’s Word in relation to the nature of man
and to integrate Biblical principles into his social work practice. His
previous work includes is weekly newspaper column titled “Straight Paths.”
