Finding Healing From Racism

2018-04-10

Never in the history of the United States has there been a greater need for healing when it comes to racial unrest.

Within the pages of Overcoming Racism Through The Gospel ($22.99, paperback, 9781602663008), readers will recognize the key sources of racial division and then learn the ways to overcome them.

“The reader will have the ability to become a facilitator for racial healing and reconciliation processes through the use of history, strategy and biblical principles that help to achieve Jesus’ prayer for oneness in John 17, and then demonstrate to the world how it is done,” the Rev. Melvin Johnson says. “My book is written for the empowerment of the reader to effectively address issues of racial disparity from a ministerial point of view with the purpose of bringing solutions instead of fostering, extending or prolonging animosity within the body of Christ and the culture in general.”

Overcoming Racism Through The Gospel is resource that enlightens the reader in understanding the reasons for racial hatred and how destructive it has been for humanity.

“There is rarely a newscast that does not mention a race-related matter,” the author and minister states. “Americans are tired of being called racists and Uncle Toms by those who even now use racial accusation as an effective weapon to silence opposition. The culture has become paralyzed with accusations of racism to the point that good, wholesome dialogue is often subordinated to foolish claims and unsubstantiated social policies. There must be a way out of this quagmire and this book provides credible solutions.”

Melvin Johnson has preached the gospel for 30 years. Raised in the southern Texas' Gulf Coast region during the latter days of overt racial prejudice and separation, he learned that being black did not disqualify him or other blacks from achieving their God-ordained destinies. Johnson holds a bachelor of arts degree in religious education from Covington Theological Seminary, a masters of ministry degree in Christian counseling and a doctor of ministry degree in theology.
