Within the pages of Carol L. Nelson’s book, Open the Gates: Let Go and Let God ($13.49, paperback, 9781545638941; $6.99, ebook, 9781545638958), readers will find the story of the author’s life and the poor choices she made, despite God always being there, even though she may have not been able to see Him.

From four marriages to drugs to stealing vehicles to eventually ending up in prison, Open the Gates shows how God continued to impact her life, and how she continued to ignore the signs He put in front of her.

By sharing her story, Nelson says, “It is my hope that I would be able to reach those who are struggling in their life. I believe that the problem is not the drugs or alcohol but rather a symptom of the real problem. By reading this book, I wish the reader could relate and get help.”

Carol L. Nelson is a college graduate and played the clarinet in high school. She taught Sunday school and children's plays for many years. She was a mortgage loan officer for many years. As a recovering addict, she went through 10 years of hell and is 30 years clean.
