– I am Grateful: An African Journey through Celibate Priesthood to Married Life ($21.49,
paperback, 9781545647936; $9.99, e-book, 9781545647943), is now available.
Kelebogile
– I am Grateful: An African Journey through Celibate Priesthood to Married Life
follows the lives of two Africans from
different parts of Africa and different Christian sects. Emmanuel was an
extroverted Nigerian man, and Kelebogile was an introverted South African
woman. Emmanuel is an ex-Catholic priest and Kelebogile is the daughter of a
Methodist Pastor.
Nevertheless,
they married, and Kelebogile – I am Grateful offers commentary on the ongoing dialogue
that celibacy may not be made a condition for the Catholic Priest. It
challenges the reader to look closely at how young candidates for the Catholic
priesthood can be when they commit their lives to celibacy.
