Shay believes we are more alike than different, we all have adversities, and we all like to laugh. This book gives a unique perspective on the role of humor in hope and healing. She believes it's not time that heals, it's God who empowers us through an intentional relationship with Him.

Addiction and finding solutions is so much at the forefront of society's attention; for her, a faith perspective is vital. This story is about hope, healing, and humor throughout the recovery process, which for her, was only accomplished by complete surrender and reliance on God. She wants to encourage others that they too can overcome adversities and find joy in their lives.

Delaine Shay is a graduate of Augustana University, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She studied at the North American Baptist Seminary and was certified as a Spiritual Director through Benedictine Peace Center. She assists the Addiction Ministry at her home church as volunteer coordinator. She’s received Grief Counselor's training and has also served as a Bible study director. Creativity and helping others are some of her many passions that inspired her to write this memoir of hope and healing.
