The Ear of a
Man: Hearing God’s Still Small Voice is a collection
of true short stories depicting how mankind responds to a Holy God. No man is
without excuse as God has made Himself known to all. This book reminds readers
that stoney hearts long to become hearts of flesh and that the Holy Spirit
transforms the human spirit. The
Ear of a Man encourages readers to be still, speak Scripture, and shore
up thoughts with God's Word, for faith to increase.
Cindy Steck recounts several instances
of when listening for God prompted her to live boldly in faith. Characterized
as a woman’s devotional, The Ear of a Man describes several Christian
attributes that come forth when a person trusts the name of Jesus and realizes
God knows everything in our paths. Steck shares examples of how she lived out
the Christian life: loving others as Christ does, gaining insight from
Christ-like friends and the importance of encouraging words. Steck sees man’s
need for the Lord begins first with listening to God’s Word, to the Holy
Spirit, and letting God lead the way.
Cindy Steck is also the author of The
Tongue of a Woman. She is married to Howard, who has been telling her
what she should write for 34 years. Together they talk with God from their
porch. They experience laughter and tears imagining what God might be
thinking. Cindy is a graduate of Georgia Perimeter College’s
Interpreter Training Program and has been an interpreter for over three
decades. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Trinity
International University in Deerfield, Illinois. Together, Cindy and Howie
are founders of Mission Mobile.CO, a 501c3 not for profit serving widows,
orphans and the working poor. They teach financial courses, support food
distribution to pantries throughout the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and
minister to young adults who seek life skills and experience.
